Toshika Sylvester wins four events at The Class C Louisiana High
School State Track Meet
Toshika Sylvester, a member of New Era Track Club and a Senior at Phoenix High School, won four
Championship Titles at the Class C Louisiana State Meet. Toshika won the long jump with a leap of
19-feet-2 inches and then far outdistanced the field in the 100 (11.76) and 200 (24.16) along with running
down Marquall Ruffin of Epps in the final 30 yards of the 4 x 100 meter relay. Toshika would have broken the
Class C records in the Long Jump, 100 and 200 meters had her time not been wind-aided.
School State Track Meet
Toshika Sylvester, a member of New Era Track Club and a Senior at Phoenix High School, won four

Diamond Every wins Class 4A 400m State Championship
Diamond Every, a member of the New Era Track Club and a Junior at Edna Karr High School,
won the Class 4A Louisiana High School 400 meter State Championship with a time of 56.39. Diamond had
previously finished second as a freshman and third as a sophomore. Diamond also anchored Edna Karr's
4x400 meter relay team to its second consecutive state championship with a time of 3.59.16.
Diamond Every, a member of the New Era Track Club and a Junior at Edna Karr High School,
won the Class 4A Louisiana High School 400 meter State Championship with a time of 56.39. Diamond had

Club, helped guide Edna Karr to the Class 4A Louisiana High School girls 4x400 Meter Relay Championship
for the second year in a row. The girls easily cruised past Ruston High school with a time of 3.59.16.

Jasmine George finishes runner-up in 100 Meter Hurdles
Jasmine George, a member of the New Era Track Club and a Senior at Higgins High School,
placed second in the Class 5A Louisiana High School State Chammpionships in the 100M Hurdles with a
time of 14.83 seconds.

Larrion Weatherspoon Places Third
Larrion Weatherspoon, a member of the New Era Track Club and a Junior at West Jefferson High School
placed third in the Class 5A Louisiana High School State Championships in the High Jump with a mark of 5
feet 2 inches

Ta’shania Bean medals in both Long and Triple Jump
Ta’shania Bean, a member of the New Era Track Club and a Senior at McMain High School, finished second
in the Class 3A Louisiana High School Long Jump with a mark of 18 feet 2.5 inches. Bean also placed third
in the Triple Jump with a mark of 37 feet 5 inches.
